As our story begins back in June of 1996. It has been an amazing decade and then some. Our journey has brought us here to Layton and two children later, we are loving every minute of it.

It was such a great weekend. We had a lot of fun and spent a great holiday with those that we love. How grateful I am for my FAMILY! To those who couldn't make it this year, there is always next. We met some really neat guys from Denmark (Andrus & Runon) and invited them along on the trail one day. They could not believe the kind of things those crazy Jeepers could do. I think the highlight of their trip was that they got to drive too. However, the more i go the more i am starting to realize that yes it is safer on my couch, But as they say, our goal here is not to make it to the grave in perfect condition but to make it there with bumps and bruises and saying, " Man I enjoyed the ride". We love you all and are Thankful for everyone of you. We are do deeply blessed. HOld them a little tighter tonight!
Thanks! Giving Highlights!
Yes, If you look closely you can see Ryker and Bryan laying on their side, Ethney was in the back. Their First and hopfully LAST! Roll over with their Dad, what a bonding moment! What you can not see is me freaking out over to the side!

Utah Fair! Take one!
On the 14th of September we headed out to the good ol' fair. We had free tickets and thought what better way to spend out saturday night that smelling farm animals! Yum! After looking for somewhere to park for 30 minutes we finally parked down a back alley and hightailed it on in. At least we were going to have ourselves a hot Wilkinson's Scone! But no, To our sad discovery, they were no longer there. How ever, the night was still young and great because to our nice surprise The group "lAdy Antabella" was playing that night and it was a free concert so we headed on over to watch ourselves a show. It was actually really good and the kids loved dancing and singing! What a blast! Thanks Dad and Mom for going with us! See ya'll next time!
YEE HAAAA!!!!
Ryker and the pony express! (o.k. not really but maybe in training! )
You can not tell, but he was loving it!
Grandma Bott, Ryker and Ethney, waiting for "LAdy Antabella?" To start playing!
More waiting! Good times! Poor Grandpa Bott! Cheap entertainment! But the kids were just a laughing! Thanks dad!

John H. Bott @ Sons - The Grist Mill 1857
Three weeks ago our dear family in Brigham city were victims of a horrible fire. The 150 year old Mill was burned uncontrollably to complete loss.
The Grist Mill was the first industrial building constructed in Brigham City, it was completed in 1856 and began operating in 1857. In 1877 my Great, Great, Great grandpa, John H. Bott purchased the whole city block for $300 where the building stood. IN 1890, he operated a stone-cutting and monument business until his death in 1914. This family business is a Four generation family business, it is owned and operated by three Bott Brothers, my cousins, D.J. , Mike, & Justin.
My sweet Cousin Shaleena, who lived upstairs, was on the 3rd floor with her son Gabe asleep Luckily they were awakened and were able to get out unharmed. They did suffer some smoke inhalation but were treated there that night on the scene along with an officer who helped with their escape. Along with Shaleena and Gabe, my cousin's (D.J., Mike, & Justin) who ran and worked at the shop have suffered a great loss. Everything!
The shop was an amazing building, I used to love going up to visit and walk thru and see the old pictures and the old writings on the wall (which are all gone now). All the old tools and unique stair cases are gone. It was hard to go and see the devastation and walk the grounds with my dad. He said, "I could just cry seeing this" I told him to do it, so many memories are in that old place and now that is all they are, memories! I am so sad for my family, i wish i could do more.
Zions Bank is currently taking donations for the families in the name of D.J. Bott Family Fund to help them recover from this great loss. Donations can be made at any Zion's Bank location.
The building was considered one of the best pre-served mills in the sate of Utah. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
How sad we are, We love you Bott'S!

A moment!
As I sit here tonight, I have had many thoughts enter into my head. I just spent the last few hours reading a blog that I heard about from the ksl website. I have had no recollection of time, while i have been utterly consumed with the thoughts for this family. It has cause me to ponder the many people that i am grateful for in my life as well as the realization of the importance of my faith. It is late and i need to be in bed so that i can be a better mother tomorrow but, i did want to say a quick little note before i head off to bed. I love you! I am grateful for each of you and for the many times that you have helped me in my life or sacrificed for me and my dear family to make my life a little better, easier, funner, happier, lighter and then some. How indeed grateful iam for my Heavenly Father who has laid out a plan for me. That thru Christ i may have Eternal life. Tomorrow I will try a little harder to be a better Wife, mother, sister, daughter, & friend. That i can put forth "a little more effort, a little more self-discipline, a little more consecrated effort in the direction of excellence in my life." "Let us all try to stand a little taller, rise a little higher, be a little better." Quest for excellence : Gordon B. Hinckley Good night!
